HEADQUARTERS OF DIC GROUP ACQUIRES EDGE GREEN BUILDING CERTIFICATION

On the morning of August 16th 2022, International Finance Corporation (IFC) – World Bank officially awarded EDGE Green Building certification for the new headquarters of DIC Group.

NEW HEADQUARTERS OF DIC GROUP GUARANTEED FOR GREEN BUILDINGS

Located at 15 Thi Sach – Central route of Vung Tau City, the new headquarters of DIC Group is seven-floor building with a construction area of 1,240 m2 on a total area of 7,640 m2. The project was designed by architect Vo Thanh Lan with ARDOR Green as the green design consulting unit.

The new headquarters of DIC Group is located at No. 15 Thi Sach Street  Vung Tau City.

As a “home” for more than 300 employees, the building is invested in modernizing the workspace with high-tech facilities while focused on emphasizing the corporate’s brand identity simultaneously. In particular, integrating energy solutions, complying with EDGE certification is the top priority of the investor – DIC Group.

Accordingly, to achieve EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) certification, the building must reach at least 20% savings in energy, water and embodied energy in materials. The energy audit results from SGS Vietnam (International Independent Inspection Company) showed that headquarters of DIC Group currently achieves 34% energy saving; 33% water savings; 64% reduction in emissions from the energy embodied in building materials.

 All construction materials, sanitary equipment, electricity are selected based on high environmental- friendly standards. By adopting effective new technologies, the building has achieved outstanding energy savings, such as: roof insulation; external shading equipment; solar cells; energy-saving devices (such as LED light bulbs...); water-saving plumbing system; 100% reuse of exterior walls and floors...

 At the EDGE Certification Award Ceremony, Ms. Michelle M. Farrell – Head of IFC Global Communications & Business Development said: "IFC recognizes DIC Group's efforts in pioneering the application of green solutions to this building. The adoption of the EDGE green building certification also demonstrates DIC Group's strong commitment to green and sustainable development in the construction industry. IFC believes that these green practices will be widely applied in DIC Group's upcoming projects, creating a positive influence in the real estate market."

DIC – A BRAND PIONEERING IN GREEN BUILDING DEVELOPMENT IN BA RIA – VUNG TAU

IFC's EDGE certification system is a global voluntary certification system for resource-efficient buildings, leading to green engineering solutions, while reducing investment costs and estimating building savings. EDGE is recognized in many countries around the world, including Vietnam.

In Ba Ria – Vung Tau, DIC Group’s headquarters is the first building to be awarded EDGE green certification. Mr. Hoang Van Tang – CEO of DIC Group shared: "EDGE green certification for the new headquarters is a noteworthy recognition for DIC Group. This is the motivation for DIC Group to continue to carry out its mission of investing in building green and sustainable urban areas in many provinces and cities across the country".

As of 2022, DIC Group has been implementing many urban projects spread across the country.
